Wheelchair Strong

Patriots Alumni, Garin Veris supported this year’s Komedy for a Kause, hosted by The Wheelchair Strong Foundation.

The Wheelchair Strong Foundation is dedicated to raising money and awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy through laughter and entertainment. Their goal is to fund specific research programs and to help families, not just specific to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, with our grant programs that will assist with out of pocket medical expenses and adaptive sports programs. They always promise to be unique to others with our fundraising efforts, because we strive to give back to you both a smile and laugh along with a heartfelt thank you for your love and donations.

This foundation started in 1995 when Troy and Andrew Chauppetta were diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Since their diagnosis, their father, Mark W. Chauppetta has been running entertaining third party charitable events, with a mission to advocate and give back to the Duchenne MD community. His bold and entertaining style has led him to enter the Mixed Martial Arts cage, wrestle a tag team match with WWE star Jerry “The King” Lawler, and host annual comedy shows. After the success of the second annual Komedy for a Kause, the idea for the Wheelchair Strong Foundation was born and the rest is only looking up.
